Director’s Message

“A school is a building surrounded by four walls with future inside”.

It’s a social institution that reflects the standard of the society. Therefore, a good school is needed for a good society to exhale and utilize its hidden talents for the fullest possible up- liftment and progress. A school plays greater role in changing the society and its people in the sphere of academic, social, economic, mental, moral & physical development. Above all, it always keeps its door open for all irrespective of caste & creed, colour & community, high & low, rich & poor. Hence it may be termed as a pious and sacred social institution. One-step ahead, it ignites the young minds and moulds the pupils to good citizens as well as the good leaders of the nation.

With this end in view, the school was established in the year 2006. It is because of the sustained effort & dedication of the trustees, the school has reached at the present stage. At present, it has enrolled around 1163 students and 64 staff. It is needless to mention that the school has made a remarkable and speedy progress in scholastic and non-scholastic as well as infrastructural areas. Apart from that due to the heavy public demand, the management resolved to construct another multi-storied building for its elementary section in the district headquarter of Gajapati. We have taken some more steps to make it a model institution. The school arranged day-night security personnel to ensure the security of the school. The school is well-protected by a complete boundary wall. It has also made provisions of drainage system, fire-fighting, pure drinking water, sufficient lavatories etc. Similarly, the school has arranged Identity cards for both the students and teachers, provides instruments for games and sports, updated school diary, prospectus, progress report, yearly activity calendar, Annual Syllabus etc. It also maintains teacher students -ratio, sufficient nos. of class rooms, school library cum reading room, computer laboratory, science laboratory, indoor game room etc. It is worthy to mention that the school maintains its credit of academic excellence and had already received recognition from the District Administration.

Our philosophy of education has always been meeting the needs of the individual child. Children acquire skills and knowledge easily if we can make the surrounding stimulating and purposeful. In the 21st century, the Digital Revolution affects us all. Quite simply, it is changing everything: a brilliant barrage of information, entertainment, companionship and education is speedily available. In such a surrounding when work and effort is valued, the child’s self -esteem is heightened, and from this results self-motivation. We try to understand and work with each child, and we firmly believe that it is our responsibility to enable the child in our care to develop as a whole.
We all are concerned with children as they have lives beyond the classroom, and we cannot meet their needs, if we show no concern for their activities outside school. We are the first institute in the region to start the concept of individual monitoring and counseling for the weaker students through ‘Mentorship’ which involves direct contact with the parents of such children by specially appointed mentor-teachers who analyze and devise ways to upgrade the back benchers.
If innovation and novel ideas are a key to a bright future, then we can surely remain assured of our place under the pedagogic sun. We put forward a distinctive blend of offerings in the areas of knowledge and enterprise in the form of encouraging students for debates elocution and quiz contests as well as organizing and taking part in various cultural events. Each child has his own individuality and his special skills and talents. A good educational system helps a child to nurture his talents and overcomes his shortcomings. Only by providing appropriate, all encompassing education that will lead to the development of the all-round personality of a child equipped to face the challenges of life in all his/her future endeavors, we will be able to raise ideal future citizens of our country and the world.

Let me conclude with seven quotes that echo my feelings for learning.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Nelson Mandela

When asked why I teach, I reply “to change the world and shape the future”. Ultimately, I believe education to be the greatest service that we can give to someone else.

“When you know better you do better.” Maya Angelou

While we believe in academics we also believe that we teach the whole child. Decision making is largely shaped by what we know and our environment. Character education is the part of education that helps us “do better”, make wise decisions, build integrity, and ultimately makes us who we are.

“Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education.” Martin Luther King Jr.

Our goal for the School is to build both intelligence and character.

“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” Margaret Mead

Learning how to think is much harder than memorizing what to think. This is also a part of education that we would like to pass on to the students. We should encourage students to ask why?

“In learning we will teach, and in teaching we will learn.” Phil Collins

I consider myself as a student in that I am constantly learning! My mantra is Learn, Dream, Lead. This is the hope we have for myself but also for my students and teachers as well.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” W.B. Yeats

When we think of this quote we go back to, it is not what we do but how we do it! As we learn we attach information to our emotions. Knowing this, we think excitement and motivation are key to education!

“I think you learn more if you’re laughing at the same time.” Mary Ann Shaffer
